Limerick 2-23 (1-14) Tipperary 0-9 (0-4)

Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Intermediate Championship Group 1 Round 4
Venue: Killeedy
Time: Saturday 12th July 2.30

Limerick finished the group stage of their Intermediate Championship campaign in style with an emphatic 3-23 to 0-9 win over Tipperary in Killeedy on Saturday. Limerick finished with 4 wins out of 4 scoring 10-74 and with an impressive +76 points difference. On this form Limerick will go forward to a semi-final meeting with Waterford on 16th August as favourites to go a step further than last year and bring home the title.

It was Tipperary who opened the scoring with a point from Burgess Duharra's Jenny Grace. Rebecca Delee replied for Limerick only for Jenny Grace to put Tipperary back in front for what was to be the last time. Limerick went on a spree scoring the next five points with Deborah Murphy, Lorraine McCarthy, Rebecca Delee, Niamh Mulcahy and Aoife Sheehan all getting on the scoreboard. Niamh Mulcahy added an impressive 65m free before Aoife Sheehan pounced on a mistake by the Tipperary keeper to score Limerick's first goal.  Limerick were well on top at this stage and posted six further points to go in at half time ahead by 1-14 to 0-4.

Limerick opened the second half scoring with a point from Bruff's Niamh Ryan. Aoife and Jane Wilson and Meadhbh O'Neill came in for Limerick who continued to dominate adding eight points to four for Tipperary. This brought Tipperary’s total to nine, seven of these coming from the excellent Jenny Grace.
As the game approached the conclusion Limerick compounded Tipperary misery as both Rebecca Delee and Aoife Sheehan found the back of the net. Aoife Wilson pointed for the last score of the game to leave the final tally Limerick 3-23 Tipperary 0-9.

Limerick will look forward to their semi-final in August but before that the Junior side have their semi-final clash with Kerry in Newcastle West on Sunday at 3.45pm.
