Limerick 1-10 Kerry 1-10
Irish Daily Star Division 4 League Final
Sunday 4th May at 2:30pm in Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry

Kerry and Limerick will have to go at it all over again to decide the destination of the Irish Daily Star Camogie League Division 4 trophy after an exciting draw in Abbeydorney.

Limerick made the early running and led by 0-3 to 0-1 at the quarter hour mark with two points from Caitrin de Bhal and one from Kristy Carroll. But Kerry replied with two pointed frees and a score from play by Jessica Fitzgerald to edge ahead. Limerick kept Kerry scoreless for the remainder of the half  and when Elaine Kennedy’s long ball dropped into the Kerry net, Limerick pushed on to establish a five-point advantage to lead at half time by 1-6 to 0-4.

That lead was up to six approaching the end of the third quarter but a scrambled goal by Jessica Fitzell closed the gap and galvanized the Kingdom. Kerry pressed forward and four points from placed balls brought Sara Murphy’s tally to eight and gave Kerry the lead going into the final moments. However an injury-time foul on substitute Niamh Tuite gave the accurate midfielder Caitrín de Bhál a chance to take her tally to seven and snatch a deserved draw for Ger Curtin’s side

The replay will take place next Sunday 11th May in Newcastle West at 2.30pm.
