History:

Croagh/Kilfinny Camogie Club was formed in 1953. The Club was the top camogie team in the county, winning three County Championships in a row. After a lapse of a few years the club fell through. The Club was reformed again in 1960. They won the county title in 1961 and again in 1962. After a lapse of one year they came back again to regain the Senior County Championship title and completed the hat-trick in 1964, 1965 and 1966.

In 1975 our Senior team were crowned All-Ireland Club Champions when they defeated Athenry in the All-Ireland Club Final. Bonfires were lit and tar barrels blazed when the girls returned with the cup. Currently the Club holds 14 Senior County Championship titles.

The Club went on to create history when it became the first club in the country to own and develop its own pitch. On the 26th August 2001, the Croagh/Kilfinny Camogie pitch was officially opened by the President of Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael, Padraigín Ní Rafartaigh. The field was dedicated to the memory of Helen Sheehy-Fitzgerald R.I.P, who was instrumental in its purchase and development.

The Club also won the All-Ireland Feile na nGael in 1978. A feat which was repeated when our U/14 team represented Limerick at the Feile na nGael in May 2008. The competition was hosted by Laois/Offaly and the girls reached the semi-final of Division 2.

Currently we have teams participating in all levels of competition starting at U/8 going right through to Intermediate.
